Full colour video is the normal standard for shooting video for marketing exercises. However, in a world where there are any number of videos the same and blogs seem to be one endless generic spool of tips and talks, black and white film can give you an advantage.
Black and white video is that little bit different from the coloured equivalent and so it stands out from the norm. For businesses who wish to portray a quirky image, this can create a fun and noticeable impression and make them stand out in their field.
In poorer lighting conditions black and white video provides a great alternative to colour and it can really produce some interesting shots. The different colours produce different levels of light and so produce different levels of black and white in the image, which can lead to some interesting results.
Of course, one of the great things about being able to film footage in a digital world is being able to choose whether something, looks better than something else. In the case of coloured footage, it’s easily compared to black and white footage and merely depends on your video editing software. This leaves you with the option of creating your video in a black and white, or coloured manner, or even mixing between both for notable effect.
Such black and white shots can really add a stylistic impression to a movie or a shot. Think of the old film noir movies, or certain horror movies. Black and white video can create that specific feel your business, or company may be after in a video and so can really provide you with something special.
Video editing software allows you to perform a number of other alternative actions on your video. Perhaps you don’t want black and white and are more inclined towards sepia, or even want black and white, with certain colours left in for stylistic, or emphasis purposes. This can all be achieved with some of the video editing software out there and aid you in the creation of some great video.
